5.5 Months – 52 Weeks, A Blog Dedicated To Lionel Larry

Aug 29, 2018

5.5 months – Tuesday September 15, 2015 – The first Rosh Hashanah without my Dad

Wishing everyone a sweet year filled with health first and foremost, so much love to surround you through all the challenges that come your way, and enough laughter, good times and fun to keep the beauty in your heart and soul! May your year be peaceful.

What have I learned over the past few days is this:

It is important to start traditions

Family really and truly is everything

Health is so precious and we must be grateful for it

Life is rocky, and wavy, and beautiful and mysterious – all at the same time

When I am angry, I cannot feel my Dad at all.  When I surrender more and ease into life, I feel him all around me.

Gratitude is key –

Routine and Habits for self care like exercise, yoga, eating healthy are necessary and important when your body is under a lot of stress

Grief is not something you should be ashamed of – it is a really intense experience that can take over your body and add an enormous stress load – physically and emotionally.  Be gentle with yourself if you are grieving, and know that acute grief can last up to 18 months after losing a loved one.

That wether you like it or not – the days are passing, the seasons are shifting, and we have to keep moving….

Above all – make connections and surround yourself with good people and a lot of love – that is what you take with you when you go – the love of the people who knew you is what keeps your spirit alive.

Ending with this song today – the wheel by The Grateful Dead

The wheel is turning and you can’t slow down,
You can’t let go and you can’t hold on,
You can’t go back and you can’t stand still,
If the thunder don’t get you then the lightning will.

Won’t you try just a little bit harder,
Couldn’t you try just a little bit more?
Won’t you try just a little bit harder,
Couldn’t you try just a little bit more?

Round, round robin run round, got to get back to where you belong,
Little bit harder, just a little bit more,
A little bit further than you gone before.
The wheel is turning and you can’t slow down,

You can’t let go and you can’t hold on,
You can’t go back and you can’t stand still,
If the thunder don’t get you then the lightning will.
Small wheel turn by the fire and rod,

Big wheel turn by the grace of God,
Every time that wheel turn ’round,
Bound to Hecover just a little more ground.
