Week 11/12 – 52 Weeks, A Blog Dedicated To Lionel Larry

Week 11/12 – Monday June 15, 2015

I apologize that I have not had the focus or strength to write each week the last little while.

There has been a lot going on in my heart and head.

The funeral celebrating BJ Nathan last Sunday left me frozen.   There are no words to express it.   Today marks exactly 12 weeks since my dad has passed.  Finding the time to really focus on your emotions and feelings is a hard task.  Life is busy, especially with work and being a wife and mom.  If Cole needs me, my grief has to wait.  The same thing with work.  They are all welcome distractions, and huge tools for pulling me through this.  That being said,  it is hard to find a balance between facing and feeling; and living life.  I think that can be said for a lot of the hard feelings we have to process.  Maybe that is why it takes so long to shift through and change hard, challenging emotions.  This song has been really connecting with me the past few weeks, so I am going to leave the post with these words.  Sometimes music says more than words can ever express.

I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone
Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms

Laid down last night, Lord, I could not take my rest
Laid down last night, Lord, I could not take my rest
My mind was wandering like the wild geese in the west

The sun will shine in my back door someday
The sun will shine in my back door someday
March winds will blow all my troubles away

I wish I was a headlight, on a north bound train
I wish I was a headlight, on a north bound train
I’d shine my light through cool Colorado rain

I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone
Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms

I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone, gone, gone
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I’m gone, gone, gone
Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms
